Print from my original watercolor. Image 7 x 9 1/2 2017 marked the bicentennial celebration year of First Presbyterian Church of New Bern. The formal organization took place on January 7, 1817, at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Minor. The Reverend John Knox Witherspoon established the church with 13 founding members. Construction began in 1819, and the sanctuary was dedicated on January 6, 1822.
