Its bright clock can be seen from all over town and was completely rebuilt in the fall of 2019. The Baxter Clock was manufactured in 1920 by the Seth Thomas Clock Company and erected in New Bern in 1930, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is thought to be one of three operating clocks of its kind remaining in the country.
